May 2022 Newsletter

Dear members,

Over the many years that I have been involved in dance, I have written articles and critiques for the Dancing Times and even appeared on the front cover. I was therefore delighted, as the new chair of the UKEDC, to be interviewed by Peter Meager for the May 2022 edition of the Dancing Times. In the article I talk about what my thoughts are about the future of UKEDC. Please have a read and let me know your thoughts. I am always interested in what our members have to say.

On the topic of members and membership, can I please remind you to renew your membership as soon as possible. Last year’s membership was extended to 31st March 2022, but membership fees are now due. For ease, there is a new button on the website, so that your annual membership fee can automatically be renewed.

There are many benefits to being a member, and this list is being added to all the time. One of the new benefits is from George TZ, offering members a 10% discount on his costumes. Members will also have substantial discounts to tickets for our Anniversary Gala Ball, on the 24th September, see below. There are also discounts on registration fees for the Pink Jukebox Trophy and the 2022 Eurogames.

We are continually updating the website with details of events, social dances, and competitions, so please keep checking it. If you hear of anything before we do, please let us know.

In last month’s newsletter we asked if any of you have good pictures of equality social dancing that we can use on the website. You can still send photos (and even videos) to Jo, but remember we are looking for photos of social rather than competitive dancing.

Please feel free to forward this newsletter to others who might be interested and encourage them to join us!

With very best wishes
ANSELL
Chair of UKEDC
